Diploma in Indian Sign Language Interpretation (DISLI)
The Diploma in Indian Sign Language Interpreting (DISLI) is a program accredited by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) since 2016. NISH is a recognised center by the RCI for administering this program. The primary objective of DISLI is to cultivate proficient and skilled interpreters. Graduates of the diploma program will qualify to serve as interpreters, with RCI granting them the certificate of registration upon successful completion. The program spans a duration of two years.
The Admission to DISLI 2024-25 will be granted directly by NISH after verification of certificates at the time of the interview.

Diploma in Teaching Indian Sign Language (DTISL)
The Diploma in Teaching Indian Sign Language (DTISL) is a diploma-level course accredited by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI). NISH has received approval as a recognized center from RCI to conduct this program. The primary objective of DTISL is to train Deaf educators to teach Indian Sign Language (ISL) in diverse educational settings and to assume leadership roles in the field of sign language instruction. Upon successful completion, RCI will issue the certificate of registration. The course spans a duration of two years.
The admission to DTISL 2024-25 will be granted directly by NISH after verification of certificates at the time of the interview.

Degree HI (BSc (CS) (HI), BFA (HI) & B.Com (HI))
NISH conducts BSc (Computer Science) (HI), Bachelor of Fine Arts (HI) & B.Com (HI) programs exclusively for the deaf and hard of hearing. The scheme and syllabus have been so designed that there are substantial practical content and less theory. The University of Kerala would award a degree to successful candidates.

Diploma in Early Childhood Special Education (Hearing Impairment) (DECSE(HI))
The Diploma in Early Childhood Special Education (Hearing Impairment),(DECSE(HI)) is a diploma program introduced by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) from 2001. NISH has been approved as a recognised center for the conduct of the program by RCI. The main aim of the program is to generate qualified professionals for the Early Intervention program. The Early Intervention program which is getting increased attention requires a large number of qualified teachers. The successful candidates from the diploma program will be eligible to be appointed as teachers. RCI will provide the certificate of registration.

Bachelor of Occupational Therapy
Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (BOT) is a four year six months degree course to be commenced from this academic year 2020-21. BOT is a graduate level Programme affiliated to Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS) and Accredited by Academic Council of Occupational Therapy (ACOT/AIOTA) as apart of World federation of Occupational Therapy (WFOT) Occupational therapy is a rewarding career to serve person with disabilities and special needs and has good career opportunities in various settings in India and abroad.
Allotment and admission for merit and management seats are done by LBS Centre for Science & Technology (https://www.lbscentre.in/ ) on the basis of marks obtained in the plus two examinations.
Candidates will be allotted to NISH based on the rank list prepared on the basis of mark obtained in plus two examinations. Candidates have to follow instructions given by LBS Centre and further details can be obtained from the LBS Centre website.
NB: There is no separate online application form for BOT. For eligibility criteria and other instructions, please read the prospectus before you apply. Bachelor of Audiology & Speech Language Pathology (BASLP)
The Bachelor in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology is a graduate-level programme affiliated to the Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS) and recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI). Its main aim is to generate skilled and efficient manpower to work effectively with persons having communication disorders. They have opportunities to work in hospitals, special schools, speech and hearing institutes, hearing instrument manufacturing industry, government and non-government agencies working for the disabled as well as to do independent practice. Excellent opportunities await abroad for higher studies and practice

MSc in Speech Language Pathology / MSc in Audiology
The MSc. in Speech Language Pathology and MSc. in Audiology are postgraduate level programs recognised by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) and approved by Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS).
The admission to the above programs are centralized allotment procedure and it is through LBS Centre for Science and Technology . All the seats will be allocated based on rank list prepared, based on the marks achieved in BASLP/ B.Sc Speech and Hearing degree of any University recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) and approved by Kerala University of Health Sciences as equivalent. The total duration of these PG programs consists of four semesters.
